“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11
Family Life Wesleyan Church has adopted the village of Nan Mango, on the island of La Gonave in Haiti. The Island of La Gonave is home to 100,000 of the poorest people on the planet. Life is incredibly difficult on the island, and can sometimes feel hopeless. Without electricity, clean water, and adequate food; the people in our village face difficulties we cannot even imagine.
Despite it all, the people of La Gonave are vibrant and full of life. Our friends in Nan Mango are in pursuit of the Lord, and we have the opportunity to do His work and help give them hope for a brighter future. The improvements that are taking place in this village are life changing to these people. What a blessing it is to have the opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus in Nan Mango!
To aid in supporting Nan Mango, we have created a child sponsorship program. The goal is to see every child in the village sponsored. The cost is $17/month or $204/year, and every cent goes to Nan Mango! We want to give each child a home in the hearts of their very own American family.

Commonly Asked Questions
Are these children’s names correct? These are the names we were given by one of the leaders of the school. Some names that in the United States we consider gender specific are not specific to that gender in other countries. Also some Haitians are called by their family name and not their given name, while others go by a nickname. One other thing to consider is the fact that some of their letters are pronounced differently in Haitian Creole and so their name may not sound the same way that we pronounce it here in the United States.
How long will we be supporting these kids in this village? Our commitment to this village was for 7 years. Our goal is that in 7 years our village will be self sustained and thriving. Our 7 year commitment began in September 2018.
How do I make my payments? You may place a check in the offering plate each month with 29:11 Sponsorship in the memo or go to m52church.com and click GIVE to make your payments. Make sure to select 29:11 Child Sponsor instead of General Giving.
I haven’t been keeping up with my monthly payments, how can I find out what I have given so I can catch up on my payments? Please contact our church treasurer, John Kemler or Pastor Mike to receive your giving statements.
Can I write letters to the child I sponsor? Unfortunately, there is not a reliable postal system on the island of La Gonave. There may be opportunities to send letters with the mission teams that visit our village. When those opportunities are available, we will make it well known.
